Another Busy Weekend

Friday night I have dinner and a movie, I think we are going to see the new X Men Wolverine...Saturday morning is Sister & Brother in laws graduation ceremony, and then the party later in the afternoon....looks like Sunday will be housework day this week! Where are the Ferrari parts?

Bet on it

My weekend was consumed with a lot of fun activities! I went to the horse track with a bunch of friends, had dinner with more friends, lounged by the pool with a good book (no Kettlebell workout
required) , and watched Slumdog Millionare (great flick!).
This weekend is the Kentucky Derby, I am not going to the track as it is Sister & Brother in Law's Graduation, but I AM placing a bet on the race!!

Laptop

They recommend, at orientation, that you have a computer when you go off to school in this day and age, actually they HIGHLY recommend a laptop! Portability - you may need to go meet a study group, your dorm may be too noisy to work on that paper, etc. They have an entire building dedicated to computers/printing/help on campus - makes an IT job search seem like the logical career choice!

Orange and Blue Debut

Yesterday was the Orange and Blue Debut - the annual spring game at Florida Field. When I had my niece go online a register for her tour, I had her do it the day of the game, so we could do both while we were there! The spring game is justt a practice game, Gators vs Gators, and it's only a $5 donation to get in - however, we got free tickets from the tour! So, we entered the Westgate and climbed up to the closest available seats... she got to see inside the Swamp, and do some of the cheers (she was less than thrilled about that part), in addition to the rest of her campus tour. It was a good day!

Gear

Of course, I could not take a trip to UF without visiting the campus bookstore and stimulating the economy! Had to get some new Gator gear, and of course, get niece a shirt too! Thankfully, it was the day of the annual Spring Game, so they were having a very nice sale!

Gator Nation

Headed out to Gainesville this weekend to take my Niece on her college tour of UF - we had a great time, the tour was very good. They not only walked us around campus and showed you places and gave out bits of trivia, they told you about admission requirements, student housing, and meal plans. I had no idea they would have a meal plan that included the fast food places on campus! You won't need any diet pill with that one! And, if you thought you did, your student ID gets you into ALL fitness centers on campus for free!
