Discounts

There are bargains everywhere these days. Great time to buy a house, or a car, or some discount dining room furniture. They are offering so many rebates and deals it's insane. You can get $8000 back on your taxes for buying a house this year! Or a big fat rebate and employee pricing on a car! If I were in need of either one of those, I would jump on these deals.

Scaredy Cat

If you read my other blog you know I got a cat. A cat with vampire tendencies. He stays under the futon in the spare room all day, only comes out at night. I know this because the food bowl is empty every morning, and the litter box is full, and the toys are everywhere. So he is having big parties at night, and sleeping under the couch all day. He's a rock star. Or Elvis. And, if he continues to eat like that and never come out and walk around, he will get as fat as Elvis and need some of the best weight loss pill for cats!
He allows me to get within arms reach of him to pet him - no closer!
It's been 2 weeks. I'm wondering if he will ever come out from under the futon and explore the rest of the house !

Big Losers

I have been following The Biggest Loser - and it always amazes me how these people work out for 8 hours at a time, and seeing the results at the weigh in. What I do not understand is, if you are watching this show, you can see that there are NO shortcuts or magic weight loss pills in the transformation. DIET and EXERCISE are what changes these peoples bodies and lives. PORTION CONTROL. Park further away from the store and WALK. Eat your VEGGIES, instead of an extra serving of bread or pasta.

Taxed

Tax season is upon us, and not only do I have to get all of my paperwork together, I am responsible for Stepdad's as well. So, I have been gathering all of his paperwork related to the sale of the house, moving him to assisted living (which the tax lady told us we can write off!), 1099 forms, and other assorted senior life insurance type documents to send over to the tax people to get him squared away - THEN I can worry about mine.

Super Bowl XLIII

Well, today is Super Sunday, and even thought is is broadcast on NBC , just about every channel on your tv will be showing something related to the big game! Especially here in Tampa, since we are hosting the game - every media outlet has talked about nothing but Super Bowl, Super Bowl parties, all of the stars and events surrounding the game all week. I'm kind of tired of the hoopla, let's get on with the game!
